Where FNSKU Is Used
Amazon FBA product labelling
Every unit sent to an Amazon Fulfilment Centre must have an FNSKU label if you're using FBA and not using manufacturer barcodes (GTIN exemption).
Commingling prevention
FNSKU links a product to your seller account specifically — prevents your inventory from being mixed with other sellers' units.
FBA prep centres
Third-party prep centres print and apply FNSKU labels on sellers' behalf before shipping to Amazon.
When to Use FNSKU
- ✓ You're an Amazon FBA seller using the "Apply Amazon barcode" option for your products
- ✓ You've opted to label your own products rather than using manufacturer barcodes
- ✓ You want to prevent your FBA inventory commingling with other sellers' units
When NOT to Use FNSKU
- ✗ Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) or FBM — FNSKU labelling is only required for FBA
- ✗ Products using the GTIN exemption / manufacturer barcode program — those use the original retail barcode
